Gives me hope for my not-yet-run-in Silverwing then. 2450 original miles.

Of course, we don't have the same market here as the States.

Here's a couple of CB750's from the Seattle CL for Les, to my eye in remarkable condition:

Double banger today.
This one's perfect for you Les. You would have been a teenager when these were brought out, wouldn't you?   :grandpa:

A great little bike for you Victor, just a pity it's at the other end of the country.

I am not a fan of British grey porridge, there were much better examples of Velocette models later.
Chief problems with this one centre around the device described as a "carburetor" and also the "Prince of Darkness" Miller electrics lighting and magneto, both making the model hard to start.
$8,000 for it is far too much, but someone paid it, there is at least that much again to bring it back to something reasonable to ride and use.

I dunno Les, I always thought that the Lucas company was The Prince of Darkness. Their motto was "get home before dark".
I've also been reliably informed that the reason that the Brits drink warm beer is because Lucas make their refrigerators.  happy0062

Joseph Lucas was the Prince of darkness.

That's right,  Come to think about it maybe Joe Lucas was the Prince of Darkness but he had a brother at Miller.  Miller "Electrics" were a joke even on a new machine. Under powered, under size wiring, poor switching  and in general not up to the level of vibration these one cylinder contraptions could generate.  "Get home before dark" That is a good one. :grandpa:

I say reliably because my information came from a Pommy mate who had a deep affection for Morris 1100's and early Range Rovers, but their electrics drove him nuts.

24 degrees....that's about when I'm deciding whether or not to put shorts on.
I'm wondering what this bike would bring in Oz, probably a few dollars more.

Yeah I was actually being sarcastic about it only selling for a few dollars more out here.
I've found another beaut little bike for you Victor. Not much room for the groceries, but you'd have a lot of fun getting there and back. I'm not sure what the problem is with the video, but it looks like I'm wearing beer goggles.

Yeah, I had guessed that 'few' was shorthand for 'a somewhat larger amount by many thousands', and was agreeing that it was cheap.

Sweet.....I never saw one in person but remember seeing similar bikes in the Honda brochures I picked up at the local dealer where I bought my '64 CA200.
