Steve,

Not sure what time we need to leave to join in for the Saturday ride, but I might go straight to the Pub at Hill End and meet the group for lunch- that makes just under a 4 hour leisurely trip from Penrith - so you could add another hour or close to it from Hornsby to Penrith. Total distance for me works out 230k's one way, so for a 460k ride for the day (will be ample for my butt). If that works out we could leave at say 8 am from Penrith - but I'm flexible - what do you think.

Sounds fine with me, when I went to cowra for the day we left at 5:00am  so this is reasonably civilized. Happy to go earlier if you think were would need to.

Cheers

Charlie & Steve,

I am still keen. - -Got the new clutch pack in and rego renewed.
Now that I look at the map I think I might have think about some more servicing /maintenance!!

Haven't been to Hill end in 40 years so this plan sound good - Bilpin or Katooomba (depending on the time of morning) sounds fine.

Salty (I won't sign as Stephen as this could get confusing!)

Salty,

I reckon via Katoomba, Lithgow, Bathurst, Hill End - more pit stops possible if required.

I'll just sign Charlie     2smiley

I am planning to be at Bathurst somewhere between 1 and 2 PM (maybe a bit earlier)

Weather forecast for Bathurst for the weekend is 6 degrees minimum to about 21 degrees maximum and partly cloudy on Saturday and fine on Sunday.

Actually as I recall the midnight arrival worked in your favour Doddsy! Our enthusiastic greeting was no doubt all the better for having a considerable head start in the red wine consumption stakes  happy0007

I've probably got too much time on my hands at the moment because I just went through the members list for the forum for something to do.
Of a total of 795 members, I've actually met a grand total of 33!
Sort of leaves a lot of people I've yet to shake hands with. Hopefully I'll meet a few more at Bathurst.

You'll be right Harry.

I'm sorry I can't join you tomorrow.  I just now got back from Bright & all sorts of things went wrong for my clients today.

One extra day on top of Easter - Wow.  What happens when I want a real holiday?  2undecided 2undecided

The best I'll be able to do it going to be early Friday, I think.  (At leats that's the plan.)  I might even get an early start & wake you blokes up on the way  lmao lmao

Thanks Chris. I'm just getting ready to leave to meet up with the group and get the show on the road.
It's a real pity you couldn't make it, maybe next year.

All the best for those attending, the 650 camouflaged as a 500 Turbo will not be there.  2cry  Two years of flooded roads is a bit discouraging although the roads at the moment seem OK.  Hope you have a great time and lay one on Doddsy for me.

I received a couple of enquiries today asking whether or not linen and/or bedding are provided as part of the accommodation tariff at Heritage Hills.

I've just spoken to Jill, the Bookings and Functions Coordinator, and she has confirmed that the following linen and bedding is included for each person in the farm units and dormitories:
Two sheets and one pillowcase
One doona and one pillow
One bath towel

Safe riding and have a great time,
love the Oberon area, used to regularly drive B Double trucks up to there from Melb, but have never been able to explore anything else due to time and size problems.

The schedule for Saturday is as follows,

8:30am leave Heritage Hills and head to Mt Panorama to complete a lap of the track and then head to Blayney for morning tea arriving about 10am (about 56Km in total)

We will leave Blayney after morning tea (probably around 10:45am) and return to Bathurst for anyone needing fuel (about 36Km from Blayney to Bathurst and this will be a good opportunity for those riding CX500 Customs to fill up)

After the fuel stop we will head to Hill End for lunch at the Royal Hotel via Duramana and Turondale (about 76Km in total) It is anticipated we will arrive at Hill End somewhere between 12:30pm and 1:00pm

People travelling up for the day can meet us at any of these locations. I will PM my phone number to those that I know are making the trip on Saturday so you can contact me if you need to.

Further information as follows,

Directions to Rally site
The rally is being held at "Heritage Hills" (used to be called the Bathurst Sheep and Cattle drome) in Limekilns road Bathurst.

The actual address details are as follows,

Heritage Hills

As you are approaching Bathurst you will pass the Big 4 Caravan park on your right and about 1.4Km further on you need to turn right into Boyd Street. Boyd Street turn into LimeKilns road. The entrance to Heritage Hills is about 6Km from the turnoff into Boyd Street and when you get there you need to drive up a long dirt driveway (about 1.8Km long) to get to the actual site.

The google maps link below should show you how to get there from the main Bathurst road.

I was really nice to Jill on the phone & she didn't offer a single pillowcase for my tent, let alone bath towels.  :well:

I burned a bit of midnight oil last night & got the Wasp ready a day early   happy0159

(You remember how it was ready weeks ago & then the future son-out-law dropped it?)

New handlebars were the final touch & I bolted a really big box to the rear grab rail.

I'm not sure what you'd say it looks like, but it could be a late entry in the America's Cup  lmao lmao
