« Started on: 17-Jul-11, 09:55 »
Next years rally is  being organised in the Bathurst region as previously mentioned it will be over the weekend 13-15 April 2012 and will be based at Heritage Hills just 6km from Bathurst.

They have all the accommodation types we need - cabins, bunkhouses and camping.  In addition, they also have a function centre and can cater breakfast as well as dinner.

Details of the cabin/bunkhouse accommodation are as follows:

Farm Units:
We have eight farm units with six that have two bedrooms and a sunroom that can sleep up to 12 people per unit. The two other units have one bedroom and a sunroom that can sleep up to 5 people per unit. In total about 70 – 80 people.
Each unit has its own bathroom, sink, tea / coffee making facilities, microwave, T.V, heater and ceiling fan.

Dormitories:
We have three large dormitories, each a different layout and these are:
Angus House: - 11 rooms that sleep 4 people, 1 room that sleeps 2 and a verandah that sleeps 12. In total sleep 58.
Hereford House: - 4 rooms that sleep 10 people in each and 1 room that sleeps 2. In total sleep 42.
Bunkhouse: - Has two large areas, one that sleeps 34 and the other sleeps 28 and 3 bedrooms that sleep a total of 4 people. In total sleep 66.

Where are the meals for the dinner and breakfast?  Is this at the caravan park?  I'm a bit lost...

Hi Staffy,

We had originally planned to hold the rally at the Big4 Caravan Park but when Cephas and I visited Bathurst in August we found a much more suitable venue (see 2012 rally site news).

The rally will now be based at Heritage Hills (formerly known as the Bathurst Sheep and Cattle Drome) and they have their own function centre.

Excellent.  I'll get in touch with them as it gets closer to confirm "alternative" dietary requirements if I end up going.

Alternative dietary requirements.............booze?
It's a little more complex than that.  I usually end up just feeding myself.

They aren't Ray. Fish, milk, egg, bone char (it is what it sounds like), isinglass are all used to brew, ferment and fortify alcohol.  It's not a vegansim thing anyway.  There's a lot about what I can and cannot eat that's not due to veganism.  I was not elluding towards alcohol at all however, so I don't know where that came from.    2huh

referring to the above booze reference -
as in often some of the rallies can be a bit of a swim though.

I had forgotten the additives and fining processes - for which you are correct.

It's all good guys.  I have a laugh more than anyone at my "issues". I feel like a bit of an old man sometimes though... maybe that's what caused me to buy the 650 :grandpa:

As this topic has been a bit quiet I am just wondering who is actually planning to go to Bathurst for the 2012 rally.

It would be good to confirm names as we have less than 7 weeks to go.

I will be there on the 500 Turbo and so will my mate Terry on his 500 Euro happy0158

We cancelled out a while ago due to accommodation rules of the original park selected.
We then organised our 1/2 yearly ride in an area which had a more accommodating caravan park  happy0167 (before the new venue was sourced).

Being a group of 8, (all working in different fields) we need a lot of notice to align our time off - hence our annual rides are usually planed 12 months ahead.

Maybe next year.

I'm afraid I am out for this year's get together guys (& gals).  Building a new home has effectively eliminated all discretionary spending (motorcycling or otherwise) for this year (sniff...).

I can't make it either. Work did not come my way over the christmas break so unfortunately I cannot afford it.
