It's a challenge Ian.  Good luck with it.

I still hope we can get the required facilities in the region, or at least within a ride to the track.

there has been a strong backlash to the 9pm restriction and the threat of eviction for the whole group.
bathurst is still the prefered area but not the kelso park. Please cancel bookings I could not see anything in the conditions relating to a penalty for cancelation.

Several other sites have stated they have similar restrictions so the search goes on. camping would help resolve this but camping would not suit many members.

Isn't there a 60 k restriction on the track as well????

I'm not after a race around the track, in fact, I'd be quite happy with a slow lap to remember some of the things I've seen on the TV over the years.  Not to mention another look at where we camped when I was a young bloke.  I'd happily stop for photo's & everything  happy0065

There was the 60K limit when we did a couple of laps on way home from Cowra--How do these campgrounds around Bathurst get on during the Big Race weekend,I would imagine there would be heaps of drunken noise going on-WK

Chris, I think the rowdier element  usually camps at the circuit itself, where they amuse themselves setting fire to anything with a 4 cylinder engine in it.

We used to camp on the mountain and amuse ourselves sending salvos of sky rockets into the police compound.  Great fun.

Was another life time.  After Cowra I visited one of my fellow campers who now lives about 200 meters from the starting line at Bathurst and had a few laps with him around the track for old times sake.

Sorry, he lives as the caretaker of a recycling yard, now if you want your 500 recycled into scrap metal he can help you out. (He was always a Suzuki man)
