well the pretty basic really Ive used a large good quality hose clamp

with the piston and rings it place i put oil around the piston rings tighten up the hose clamp and slide the piston in works just as well as the bought one

they wanted $35 down here and the clamp was only $3.00 yes a good s/s one

yep works ok,I have seen people poping them in with fingers,I will stay with my 50 year old MECO ring compressor
